The

User Experience

Jamie Gledhill and
Dave Watson
We're delighted to have seen some fantastic work from our talented students in what is the first graduating year of BSc (Hons) User Experience Design incorporating a shared 1st year with BA (Hons) Graphics. Both user research and visual design are visible strengths for this graduating cohort.

Student success
Steffen Kautz’ excellent response to the brief set by UX agency The User Story led to them offering him an internship. We wish him every success there.
Guest lectures
Students received guest lectures from designers Rejane Dal Bello, David Clulow, David Pearson, Jim and Jess Sutherland, Jack Smyth, Sean Perkins @ North, Rebecca Rae Evans @ Snook, designers at Spotify, National Grid, Bulb, and design agencies Multiadaptor, Accept & Proceed, Neon Tribe, and Supple.

Interactive exhibitions
UX Design students exhibited printed works and working interactive app prototypes on mobile devices during NUA’s Gradfest ‘22 exhibition. They will share their work with industry guests at D&AD headquarters as part of the NUA London Portfolio Showcase event.
Industry set briefs
This year we had live briefs set by industry partners Foolproof and The User Story. The briefs were an excellent opportunity for students to engage with industry professionals and receive their input, which was much appreciated by students and tutors alike. The range and quality of the results are certainly impressive.

I have enjoyed expanding my knowledge of UX Design by exploring new design processes and methods used within the industry, especially usability testing methods like eye tracking.
