Adrian-Miles Hughes

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

A landscape digital painting showcasing two figures, one dressed royally in the foreground surrounded by bright lights, whilst behind her slouches a younger, less dignified figure. They are both situated in a forest.

I am a Games Art and Design Graduate who specialises in 2D Character design. In my work I tend to draw inspiration from JRPG’s such as the Final Fantasy series and Kingdom Hearts, as I really appreciate how you can look upon a character’s attire and instantly get an insight into their personality without first being told. When designing my own characters they are not just still images on the page, but rather someone I have yet to truly meet, getting to know them as each sketch I draw brings me closer to understanding who they wish to be. I’d like to work with a studio that feels the same connection to their work, so that we can share and discuss ideas on how to bring that important spark of life to our creations — so they leave a true impact on the players once they themselves finally get to meet them.

A digital portrait of a young woman. Her hair is a tangled mess while a bloodied blindfold hides her eyes. A lone peacock feather lays underneath, piercing her cheek enough to cause a drop of blood to form.
A landscape sheet featuring the same woman from four different angles: Front, Back, left-side, and right-side. The front view is duplicated to show a caped variant.
A digital portrait of a young woman submerged in the water, a small smile on her face. Yellow flower petals and bubbles decorate the surface, whilst directly underneath the girl is a glowing halo of light.
