BA (Hons) Illustration
My work has dealt with a wide variety of themes and issues ranging from stylized landscapes to more recently large scale oil paintings of distorted human forms in recognisable domestic spaces with an emphasis on emotion and thought provoking narrative.
My primary interest is the human body but find direct representation to be limited and instead I favour using colour, form and brush strokes that provide enough information about the figure I am painting but also seem alive in an abstract way in a two dimensional space. These are ideas I explored in pen and ink before oil paint became my favoured practice. My practice is still evolving and I expect my work to develop a lot in the coming years but I am show casing the type of work I am currently finding to be successful.
