Amber J Punter
BA (Hons) Illustration
In my creative education, I’ve discovered a love for telling stories through illustration, so I focused my final project on creating a graphic novel, zine and album cover. I developed imagery surrounding my interests – representation, music history and anarcho-communism. I prioritise diversity within my illustration as I believe artists have the tools to challenge the mainstream’s mindset and comfort people who are underrepresented in visual media. Music history is a theme found throughout my creative practice as it is the art I take the most inspiration from. Thirdly, I communicate a romanticisation of an anarcho-communist lifestyle via my creative practice. I believe art can educate people and show that life would be better if we challenged the status quo. At the end of university, I have created a solid foundation for myself and look forward to the variety that creating working full-time as a creative practitioner will provide.
