BA (Hons) Fine Art
I mostly work with second hand fabrics and found materials, my work focusses on the stories and histories of people, materials interpersonal relationships and the local area. Where we’ve come from and where we have been as individuals and as a culture. My previous work was very autobiographical focussing on my life and my relationships with my family. Now I feel that I am more focussed on everything going on around me instead.
I aim to utilise the natural movement of fabric and stitch and create work that is organic in its form. My most recent piece ‘Ketts Hill’ is the most illustrative piece i have embarked upon. This piece went from concept sketch to creation unlike my previous work that was much more experimental in its construction.
