Ami Evans
BA (Hons) Fine Art
Throughout university I have worked alongside a belief that people are extensions of their environments which has only been strengthened as the foundation of my work. I am a documenter at heart and enjoy recording my interactions with the natural and urban world. My work visually records fragments of space, seeking to share my relationship with time.
I materialise my ideas through automatic and thought-out methods with paint and collage, manipulating and obscuring printed imagery to devise entirely new beginnings, sometimes playing with space, time, or even emotion.
My Fine Art degree at NUA has helped me expand my creative practice surrounding these themes and explore new directions. This allowed me to work towards Memoryscape, my final work, where I investigated a personal relationship with time, allowing me to visualise my past as one image.
