Amy Pitcher
Amy Pitcher’s artwork consists of several collections. These include a collection of train tickets, bottle caps and similar every-day items. The main focus of her current work is golf balls, found whilst walking with her family. After finding these, she additionally bought a bagful of golf balls from a charity shop. She then proceeded to paint on the golf balls in order to manipulate them, therefore changing their appearance and upcycling them. She then decided to use different materials on the golf balls, such as glue and matchsticks, but primarily clay. The intention was to cover each one completely so the audience can’t identify them as golf balls. By repurposing them, they can now be considered as something completely unique and original, compared to the monochromatic and indistinguishable golf balls.
