Ariane Wilson

BA (Hons) Textile Design

CAD embroidery piece representing the movement, depth, and vibrant colour one might find in nature during the summer season

Ariane Wilson is a print and embroidery designer for Fashion. Her final collection ‘Germinating Colour’ has a centred focal point around nature and creating microenvironments of movement; illustrating this through a vibrant colour palette, exploring varying shapes and patterns. Ariane creates one-off fabrics, exploring fluidity and form.

Carved lino, hand printed bamboo silk scarf. Layers of colour, emulating leaves and the discarded foliage from trees and shrubs.

Her use of sustainable fabrics is inherent to her designs and the collection highlights the importance of maintaining the world around us and nurturing the remaining beauty of the natural environment. The foundation of her inspiration for costumes stems from an exposure to a variety of performances in her childhood and it is from here that Ariane’s innate appreciation began, which paved the path to her current collection.
