Bee Hale

BA (Hons) Textile Design

BA Textile Design work by Bee Hale showing a hanging length of playful woven fabric.
NUA Award Winner

Throughout my degree in Textile Design, I have developed skills in presentation, visual communication and designing for a brief. I specialise in woven textiles focusing on colour, material and finish within my work. I enjoy researching a concept, including trends and insights, to inform my creative decisions and apply my work to a specific context. During my studies, I have become proficient with Photoshop and have used other programs, such as InDesign and Illustrator, to support my creative practice.

I am very keen to unite my interest in gaming and textiles and have done so in my most recent project, Digital Rhythms. I took the initiative to learn the basics of Substance Alchemist, Designer and Painter, so I could make digital 3D textures of my woven work, that could then be applied to various contexts in a virtual environment. I am adapting my textile knowledge to the gaming industry, as I feel this sector could benefit from the research and design skills of a textiles specialist.
