BA (Hons) Textile Design
My practice is defined by developing material innovations and looking back to historical influences. I create unique woven languages, by exploring structural possibilities and drawing marks within the weft of the fabric. My graduate collection embraces natural materials and stories from untouched landscapes. ‘Nature’s Narrative’ delivers a collection, based on a soil-to-soil practice, using biodegradable fibres that blend in with the landscape. The natural dyes explore wellbeing and alternatives to toxic chemicals. My weaving offers calming simplicity and connections between the consumer and the material.
Over my years spent at university, I have developed my distinct style, as well as skills in Adobe Photoshop and collaborative teamwork. I have gained awareness of trends and markets, alongside an understanding of current climates. As well as weave, I have experience in digital print design and knitting, taking inspiration from my expressive drawings and impressive range of textures.
