Brad Torode

BSc (Hons) Games Development

BA Games Development work by Brad Torode showing a boss fight in an action-adventure game.

I am interested in gameplay programming. I have spent my third year of my degree focusing on developing my knowledge of gameplay and player interaction with items within the level. This has allowed me to create an Action-Adventure game where the main character fights skeleton AI and can pick up coins to upgrade his stats. This has given me a strong understanding in C++ and has developed my confidence in my ability to create games that focus on the user’s enjoyability.

In the future I would like to explore more types of character interaction, mainly based around shops and NPC’s. Creating an interesting environment where the player can get full immersion in the game and play the game as they would like to.
