This is a interactive piece of work sat round a table for an experience.
Award Winner

Material Manipulation through the wellbeing of dementia – one big experimental project.

Brittany is a creative weaver and screen printer who creates intriguing mix-media pieces. Growing up she always thought of new ways to create a purpose for something new. Brittany appreciates the aesthetics of screen printing as it can demonstrate self-confidence in design. The concept of this project was to build an experimental practice through analysing fabrics in relation to people with dementia.

Award Winner

During the process, Brittany has acknowledged the idea of sensory play by creating interactive multiple layering fabrics. On her final project, Brittany spent four days screen printing a piece : ‘The Dinner Table’. Brittany showed her technical skill to construct a close-up sensory experience for people who have dementia. This technical aspect of the project has encouraged Brittany to further advance her knowledge within the textiles industry in the future.

These two pieces are awareness within the sense of feeling and touch.
This sensory piece is an interactive layered movement of fabric pieces clashing.
