BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production
My name is Cameron Watt and I’m a screenwriter and director.
I pride myself most on my pragmatism, genre diversity and aptitude for authenticity. My key principle in storytelling is that I express myself and portray my own identity in what I write. Whether it’s my own experiences and emotional journeys or my philosophical and sociological ideologies, as long as there is honesty in the perspective I write from, I can produce engaging and relatable entertainment.
The most relevant example of this is my grad film. For this project I used the frugality of our given circumstances as an opportunity to explore my modest social and cultural roots. With this film I aim to provide a compellingly individualistic and immersively compassionate insight into the life of British, rural, working class boyhood, utilising bare bones production resources and true-to-life locations to inject the story with palpable authenticity.
