Catherine Perkins

BA (Hons) Illustration

BA Illustration work by Catherine Perkins showing a speculative illustration for an article that narrates the toxic truth about modern food. A gloved hand is seen injecting a bunch of hanging grapes.

I am a highly-skilled editorial illustrator and visual communicator. I focus on finding innovative and creative ways to translate a brief using traditional drawing and digital design techniques. Throughout my final major project at university, I created speculative illustrations around the theme of Food and Communication for magazines I would like to work with, such as Waitrose and Partners.

I have strong attention to detail in my drawing, and I utilise colour to effectively translate the subject of a brief. My work aims to captivate a wide range of the public by using vivid colours and engaging linear work. I can demonstrate great communication skills, and I can focus on effectively following a brief and meeting deadlines. I am great at multi-tasking and demonstrate a positive attitude while working with a team.
