Daisy Woods

BA (Hons) Design for Publishing

Book cover design by Daisy Woods showing eerie hand-lettering and a skull in the centre

I am a recent Design for Publishing graduate. My time on the course has equipped me with strong organisational skills and adaptability with my design approaches, allowing me to thrive in any working environment. I have developed specialist skills with software and print. Incorporating physical element and merging traditional design with digital is important to my design process.

A series of book covers based on plays by Shakespeare created by Daisy woods. A eerie typographic treatment is used as the main design.

With my creative work, I am passionate about bold experimental type, creating hand-lettering, illustrations and exploring how colour and type can react with subconscious emotions. A large interest of mine is book cover design which I would love to pursue as a career. The skills and creative experience I have gained, has prepared me for taking on more challenges within a design role.

Book Layout and design based on the novel Frankenstein created by Daisy Woods. The design explores the themes of isolation through typography and photography.
Book layout and design by Daisy Woods showing a biographical story about Marilyn Monroe, featuring photography and personal letters from the star.
Front, back and spine cover design by Daisy Woods showing vibrant colours, bold lettering and African markings used on fabrics.
