Daniel Harold Matyus
BA (Hons) Design for Publishing
I am a graphic designer who specialises in editorial design and typography. My years at Norwich have enabled me to grow and develop my skills preparing me for the industry. In my spare time, I continue to experiment with page layouts, creating my own typefaces, and re-designing brand identities.
My favourite project this year has been my reinterpretation of the book ‘Gulliver’s Travels’. As a designer, this story has provided me with great amounts of visual details that have been translated into my layout and the typeface I have created. I am proficient in the use of Glyphs and have thus created a seamless, working font.
I also particularly enjoyed creating a proposal for a non-fiction book. I created the layout and page designs based on Nellie Bly. This project has prepared me to interpret a brief and organise myself, skills which I will carry forward in my career.
