The manipulation of space and the physical results are what excites me in architecture. I want my architecture to be representational of the public that use them, therefor community design led projects are something I believe in. In the rationalism rather than the ornamental.
The work I’m showcasing is focused around the Barcelona Cemetery and how it has become a tourist destination and not representative of the modern man/woman of El Poublenou. A person that’s lived their entire life within this district will not be buried within its nearest cemetery. I want to change this by excavating the 18th century bourgeoise graves and create a modern necropolis centred around the idea of transitioning to the underworld through the help of metaphysical perspective as displayed by the Italian artist Georgio de Chirico.
