Danielle Midgley

BA (Hons) Design for Publishing

During my time at university, experimentation has been at the core of my process and practice. This has made me particularly strong in my idea development stage of work where I like to produce work that is playful in nature.

Additionally, this is underpinned by the method of having strong research of the subject matter that I design for- proving a successful strategy when producing work that is relevant in today’s world. In my work my love for colour and materials is apparent, following my belief that the inclusion of texture in work is more engaging and memorable to the audience.

Furthermore, creativity is my lifestyle, I have a love for trying new things. It encompasses my whole being and hobbies, whether it be crochet, or playing instruments- I thrive from creative subjects. Lastly, I have capitalised on this through starting my own online business where I can sell my own designs as well as objects I have created. I have balanced this and university still ensuring deadlines are met.
