Rach Lloyd
BA (Hons) Illustration
I am a printmaker and illustrator, whose work is heavily influenced by comedy and Dadaism. My practice is connected through processes such as rubber-stamping, letterpress, linocut and screenprint. During my final year of study, I have been using my poetry to initiate comedy research. Within my work I hope to celebrate nonsense and silliness through a playful approach to engagement and interaction, by acting on ¬comedic theory such as incongruous juxtaposition.
As I leave NUA, I plan to focus on tactile print processes, using letterpress to explore language and phonetics. I greatly enjoy the responsive and practical nature of printmaking, and using print to make traditional editions, or in more experimental ways such as collage or photomontage.
