Ellen Viney

BA (Hons) Design for Publishing

A non-fiction book of photography, typography and illustration printed onto different textures and paper stocks including translucent paper and natural eco paper.

I am a graphic designer specialising in editorial, image-making and art direction. My passion for experimental image-making has influenced my creative practice throughout university and has allowed me to strengthen and broaden my creative skills. Throughout my study, I have developed strong organisational and teamwork skills, an excellent eye for detail and due to much of my university experience being under lockdown conditions, I have proven my adaptability and resilience.

Design for Publishing work by Ellen Viney with bold colour palette and artwork and typographic elements that reflect the psychedelic content.

In addition, I have demonstrated professionalism when responding to feedback with both tutors and industry professionals and developed effective skills in Adobe software, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. While I am always open to the opportunity to learn and improve, I believe the skills, experience, and resilience I have amassed over the course of my degree have effectively prepared me for work in the creative industry.

A graphic editorial piece on the band Wolf Alice with a bold and chaotic typographic approach with a collage feel using a green and blue colour palette.
A book of experimental photography, typography, and collage with a structure of booklets that decrease in size. Each booklet represents a character with a different colour palette.
