Elodie Reid-Williams

BA (Hons) Textile Design

Model wearing lace fabrics displayed in a shirt context by Elodie Reid-Williams.

I am a versatile textile designer, specialising in knit and crochet. I have an appreciation for traditional textile craft techniques and have used historical research to heavily inspire my creative design direction. My hand-crafted approach has allowed me to apply my eye for detail through embellishments and well-considered lace patterns.

In my final collection ‘Le Roi Soleil’ I produced a collection of exquisite knitted pieces for the luxury menswear market. Inspired by the French Court of Louis XIV, my pieces use characteristics of Baroque fashion and applies them in a contemporary format. Experimenting with beading, lace and fine silks, my work is both intricate and delicate and can be applied to both a fashion and costume design context.
