BA (Hons) Illustration
I am an illustrator and printmaker, predominantly working with linocut to create images both narrative and decorative in nature. I have found such a joy and appreciation for the meticulous, yet not entirely predictable nature of the printmaking process, which has taught me to maintain a high level of organisation; attention to detail; and enthusiasm for problem solving, both within my work and outside of it.
I aim to use the medium of printmaking to create communicative imagery, accessible and applicable to a variety of contexts. Having explored carving characters and using colour over the course of my final year, I believe I have begun to uncover a more narrative direction and ambition for my printwork that situates me as both an illustrator and printmaker alike. This is a direction I will be continuing to explore and test in my printed imagery after university; while also aspiring to experience and learn as much as possible about all methods of printmaking.
