BA (Hons) Fashion
Inspired, or rather uninspired, by isolation in lockdown, you fall down a rabbit hole into your own mind. You start dreaming of quixotism – ‘an idealism without regard to practicality’. ‘Normal’ no longer exists. We may need a new dress code when we find our way out again. We may need a dress code to Wonderland.
In lockdown, I became my own muse. The repeated circle motif and dark colours mirrored my mental health, rabbit holes I was falling down in my mind.
Coming out of lockdown is a new beginning. We can curate what we want our future world to look like. My collection is seasonless and spans across contemporary dress and sculptural accessory design. The circles and endless draping technique, along with design features from timeless classics like the trench, create a continuum of infinite possibilities.
I am a womenswear designer and artist. I love to consider NARRATIVE, SPACE, STRUCTURE, MOVEMENT and FORM. I nurture craftsmanship not mass consumption.
