Emily is a mixed-media designer who manipulates non-traditional materials for a fashion application. Furthermore, she subverts traditional design processes to create unexpected textile resolutions. Her hand-crafted approach to her final collection: ‘Redirection’ has allowed her to create detailed pieces with a literal personal touch.

In this collection she has redirected ancient armour to fit with the modern-day demand for ‘figurative armour’, which protects our psyche and mental wellbeing. This high fashion outcome is the epitome of ancient practice, reinvented for a contemporary context. She utilises unconventional techniques such as laser cut, hand cut and making her own chain-link to produce new and exciting textiles.
