Emily Turner
Emily Turner’s work sits within architectural and artistic design. Over the three years of studying at NUA, she has examined the interconnectivity of perception and space through design, film and curation. Through minimalistic means, the designs have materialised into obstructive installations that are playfully activated through a participant. Questioning internal and external space, the thresholds interrupt boundaries to guide and limit our movement, in the hope to provoke a moment of reflection. The structures’ placement prompts a new narrative; they transition from stand-alone art installations to interactive film sets. She often collaborates with other artists and performers, frequently involving costume.
