Emily Woodhead

BA (Hons) VFX

BA Visual effects work by Emily Woodhead, showing a sporty, modern supercar 3D model.

My time at NUA has opened my eyes to a direction of 3D modelling and a career path that I am really excited about. I am interested in roles in hard surface modelling or exterior automotive design and am open to opportunities which will allow me to explore creating vehicle assets and concepts. While studying car design independently, I have successfully designed car concepts from scratch, producing renders as both 2D drawings and 3D assets.

Collaborative projects where communication and teamwork were key have helped me to develop transferrable skills like responding productively to criticism. The same can be said for my visits to the Lotus design studio where I applied feedback to my Nissan design from automotive design professionals.

Following graduation, I’d like to work in an environment of equally creative, driven people where I can continue to improve on my modelling and design skills, tailoring my portfolio towards exterior automotive design within work or personal projects.
