Emma Chipperfield

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

BA Games work by Emma Chipperfield showing an in-game image of Dal.

I’m a game designer, specializing in Level Design and VFX, using software such as Unreal Engine to bring ideas to life. During my time at university, I have participated in multiple game jams that have helped me to build my technical skills as well as find my areas of interest within games production.

My final project, Dal, was an accumulation of all the skills I have developed over the past three years. Designing this from the ground up let me consolidate my knowledge into one cohesive final playable prototype. My Research Report explored the indexing of space both within virtual worlds and theme parks — using my findings from this research I was able to design a prototype that is both user-focused and experimental.

Outside of university, I have always been involved in games, from Esports to gaming festivals, and the knowledge I have gained through these experiences continues to help me grow professionally and technically.
