I consider my works as an insight into my personal life, expressing a night out I went on, a make-up trend I tried out, a new obsession‚ through a cacophony of mixed media. My ideas change rapidly – an ever-changing mess focusing on youth subculture and the local music scenes I integrate myself into. Using the process of ripping, cutting and tearing, the aesthetic of punk DIY zine culture and absurdism collide into works which provide a snapshot into youthful fun.
My photography work, however, reflects a self-conscious, yet powerful self. Constantly changing to appease others and my own ego. A safety pin reflecting that connection of ideas, the amalgamation of subcultural imagery into one single look. The imposter syndrome. The poser.
