Etta Nelson

BA (Hons) Textile Design

Textile Design work by Etta Nelson showing a variety of pieces from her final collection.

I am a contemporary textile designer who specialises in creating prints for a fashion context. My designs involve a wide range of timely hand processes, each design is unique and personal. My aim is to promote buying one-of-a-kind pieces which provide longevity and sustainability within fashion. The quality of my fabrics and design application aligns with my intended high-end market level.

My inspiration for my collection: ‘Decaying Beauty’ comes from the decaying textures of urban buildings, in the familiar surroundings of my hometown, Norwich. I wanted to create a juxtaposition of decaying beauty through the heaviness of texture and contrasting bright colours layered on delicate silks and satins.
