BA (Hons) Illustration
I am a lover and custodian of music, who aspires to work for the music industry. I enjoy being creative and view my illustration/designs as a natural way to express myself and apply it to my love for screen-printing. I have applied my work to musical mediums/industry/club culture through designing and illustrating metaphorical imagery whether that be through composition, juxtaposition, colour, combining line and abstract. I have responded to Disco, Soul and Funk tracks before the 21st century and designed them into potential record cover designs. Whether that be in response to the music artist, background lyrics or sound.
I have occupied and applied my work to a shared space with a shared love that brings people together. There is contemporary element to the book where the music is essentially being re-birthed, the book acts as a catalogue to owned as a collectable. It correlates to elements of owning a record, replicating an ongoing journey of a record, such as the designing process, craftsmanship, manufacturing, the way it is handled, picked up, flipped, rewinded and stored. I love the idea of using aesthetics to complement our hobbies and passions, usability, function and sentimental value.
