Harriet Atenia
BA (Hons) Photography
Harriet Atenia is a storyteller, influenced by escapism, driven by curiosity; exploring relationships within fictional worlds. Influenced by the work of visual artist Christopher Nolan, who utilises the camera as a tool to assemble complex and intricate plots, presenting them in a way that challenges the audience’s intelligence outside of reality.
Engaging with open-ended, non-linear narratives, during her time as a student at NUA she has collaborated with award winning authors Andrew Hook and Christine Penhale, where they aspired to create tension through the visualisation of the images.
Heightened levels of motivation, work ethic and collaboration allow her to strive for more, her desire to learn and test adaptability as a creative is evident, allowing her to explore new ways of storytelling through visual media. Harriet intends to progress into an assisting role on a film or TV set, with an aim to specialise in unit stills photography and cinematography.
