Helena Banks

BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion

A collage image of Argos catalogue images, a young girl in a 2000s outfit.

Throughout my degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion, I have sought to excavate the nuances of fashion and popular culture with both humour and irreverence, while examining their impact on larger sociological ideas. My creative practice utilises new technology and more traditional journalism, in order to communicate narratives based around identity, class and gender through the lens of fashion and culture.

I hope to continue my creative practice in academia, and apply my curiosity for popular culture to critical theory. Trend forecasting, journalism and content creation became my main focuses over my university career, and these disciplines allowing me to communicate my passions and theories.
