Hollie Cooper

BA (Hons) Textile Design

BA Textile Design work by Hollie Cooper raising awareness of breast cancer through the beauty of 'knitted skin' fabrics
Award Winner

I am a knit specialist and I work with traditional printmaking techniques. I have an eye for observing trend forecasts and how my work can push the current textiles industry forward to make a positive change in supporting charities. Involving charity work has continued to develop my design process of new materials from concept to creation.

My work is vastly inspired by the female form through undertaking life drawing sessions as well as floral imagery that represents strength and beauty. Whilst working with Cancer Research UK, my campaign collection ‘Self Care Breast Aware’ acknowledges and promotes the importance for everyone to check themselves for breast cancer.

In responding to being breast aware I constructed ‘knitted skin’ fabrics, revealing translucent qualities that reflect the fragility of the human body. I won ‘The Colour in Design’ Award from the creative director at Dulux for close attention to fine detail within the concept of my colour palette.
