Imogen Sarah Waite

BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production

Film and Moving Image Production work showing a still from Imogen Waite's 'The Fish Exchange'. The still shows a medium close-up of character, Sid, in the midst of an argument.

As a filmmaker, I am always searching for fascinating stories, and more importantly, a unique way to tell them. With a fascination for people, I have always been interested in their behaviours, actions and mannerisms, and what physical form this takes. This has led me to explore, write and direct character-driven drama that presents confessional portraits of each individual; all of which versions of myself, of course.

Growing up in Newcastle means I have always been submerged in a hearty and raw space in society, accompanied by peculiar faces and stories. This life and perspective is something I aim to reflect in my films as it contributes to the sense of authenticity and individuality within my work that I value greatly. My degree in Film and Moving Image Production has enabled me to delve into my creativity and explore how my ideas can be translated in script and on screen.
