Isabella Lamorna
BA (Hons) Photography
Isabella is a photographer, writer and waitress. Her work explores themes of belonging and home, touching on mental health and the way she perceives the world around her.
Her latest work discusses the concept of home, and asks the question: “what is home?” Having moved around a lot as a child, and living in a total of 14 different places, her work looks at the places she has lived and the people she has lived with, reaching the conclusion that home, to her at least, is the people who make you feel safe and warm.
The project touches on nostalgia, childhood and the idea of false memory, with accompanying poetry and prose.
In the future, Isabella is hoping to train as an art therapist, due to her passionate belief that art can be a great tool in helping with mental health, in both recovery and as an outlet to the everyday stresses of life. She is also planning to continue her own creative work, both visual and written, and eventually publish.
