Isobel Beaumont

BA (Hons) Textile Design

BA Textile Design work by Isobel Beaumont showing Three designs from The Mara Collection, designed using watercolour imagery of sea life.

I am a Print and Pattern designer and love to explore both Interiors and Childrenswear throughout my work. I take inspiration from my childhood, where I grew up by the seaside, which is depicted in my work. My final project is named ‘Un Leanbh Beyag’ meaning The Little Child in Irish. This project consists of three collections called ‘The Mara Collection’‚ ‘The Quinn Collection’ and ‘The Saoirse Collection’ – all Gaelic names to reflect my heritage.

BA Textile Design work by Isobel Beaumont showing coordinating swatches to The Mara Collection showing a mixture of watercolour illustrations, digital drawing and screen printing.

They combine a mixture of hand-painted and digitally drawn elements to create whimsical illustrations which tell a story about her passion for sea life and its conservation. With a defined palette and the exploration of scale and placement, this collection has been designed to be applied to commercial Childrenswear, ranging from infants to young children.
