BA (Hons) Graphic Design

Bright coloured pasta pot, with Pasta Da written across it in playful font. Above is a rabbit sitting in a magician's hat with green spiral eyes, eating some pasta.

Something I’ve learnt throughout my degree is that you’re not likely to find a gem if you don’t start sifting. Researching information and visual references is crucial if you want a design to be witty and engaging, and equally as important is sketching down plenty of ideas before considering working on a computer.

Having been stuck on projects, such as my Chivas Unite project, I’ve learnt to be resilient and to not give up. I’ve also learnt the usefulness of feedback and to not avoid criticism.

Three bottles with three different patterns and colours filling the bottom half of the label. Golden sunset clouds filling the top half of the label.

Feedback discussions with lecturers have been useful as it has opened my eyes to the bouncing and merging of different ideas, but it has also taught me to trust my gut instinct and to quickly push for a better idea if I feel that an idea isn’t working.

I feel like both the skills I’ve learnt during my degree and the challenges I’ve faced have prepared me for a career in the design industry, and I am excited to get to work with like-minded people in a studio.
