Joe Corlito

BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion

The project, 'You're only as old as you feel', is an advertising-focused campaign based around the blend of two industries which are most integral to my interests. The powerful campaign encapsulates aspects surrounding the bond between automotive and fashion industries. The outcomes are authentic, organic and have purpose. In total, 5 photoshoots were produced, with 3 finalised advertisements being produced from each, acting as promotional assets for the campaign alongside a short film.

Joe Corlito is a multi-disciplinary creative with a deep-rooted connection to both fashion and automotive industries. Engaging within a multitude of roles during the assembly of his final major project, Joe has found full creative confidence and momentum through production and direction.

A Porsche 365 ‚Type A‚ is featured alongside, this is the first production vehicle under the Porsche name. Many components were taken from Volkswagen, Luke is restoring his Beetle as a homage to this.

Establishing where his true passions lie has allowed a broader scope of original, playful and eye-catching bodies of work to be created which reflect his signature style clearly. His final major project, ‘You’re only as old as you feel’ explores a marriage of the automotive and fashion industries.

BA Fashion Communication and Promotion work by Joseph Corlito. Portraits of Billy, a tradesman from Norwich. This example of the legendary Karmann Ghia was imported from the US in 2004 and has been restored to an immaculate standard. Billy has owned it just sixth months, we documented his second outing in his dream car.

Here we see two globally significant markets which are, at this point in time, more intertwined within popular culture than ever before. The project documents unique stories from six Volkswagen enthusiasts, styled in complimentary Stussy clothing with purposeful reasoning.
A strong advocate for authenticity, Joe’s aim is to create and upkeep a raw and real, transparent identity with everything he produces.

Joe was shortlisted for the Creative Direction and Styling Award, and Fashion Photography Award at Graduate Fashion Week 2022.

BA Fashion Communication and Promotion work by Joseph Corlito. Portraits of Jack, a freelance carpenter from Chiltern. The narrative follows Jack as he goes about his daily routine. The series also features fellow carpenter and close friend of Jack, Sam as well as Bruno, Sam's dog.
