Joel Tippett

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

Keyframe painting depicting a massive ramshackle forge built into a crashed galactic vessel with pipes and exhausts protruding from it and an orange glow emanating from the entrance.

Hey, I’m a games concept artist who has a love for creating in-depth worlds, considering and designing all their elements, solving creative problems, working story and character into each concept I create.

A keyframe painting depicting a vast snowy landscape scattered with industrial buildings and a group of engineers taking a break in the foreground.

My favourite genres to work within are sci-fi and fantasy with a focus on environmental work. I work within Photoshop and Blender to explore and bring my ideas to life.

A character concept sheet depicting an engineer design equipped with a thermal suit for cold environments and a set of tools use in their day to day work.

Over the course of my final year I’ve been working on a world building project aimed at designing characters, environments, vehicles, and props.

A concept sheet that depicts a backpack heater device with turn around views and breakouts of how it functions.

This is showcased here and can be looked at in more depth including process work and detailed descriptions on my ‘Artstation’ as well as my other works. Go give it a look!

A concept sheet that depicts a cylindrical device which is strapped to the front of the user which has a set of cranks, dials and a heat gauge.
