Joseph Xotta
BA (Hons) Animation
I am a Multi-Media artist specialising in sculpture, concept design and set and puppet fabrication.
My style is heavily inspired by an interest in Anthropology and tactile, rustic aesthetics and is grounded in a sense of satire or irony.
During my final year at university I have conceptualised, fabricated and then filmed a Stop-Motion animation titled, ‘Life’s Feast’. The piece is personal and represents the anger and sadness surrounding my grandmother’s passing and the magic of my childhood. It was a cathartic exercise for me and symbolises the process of acceptance. Moving forwards I intend to create more sculptural work and gain experience in the film-making industry.
