BA (Hons) Fine Art
I take the obsolete, discarded and unused, I bring items together to create a new piece of value, interest and beauty. After falling in love with 2-dimensional collage, moving over to 3-dimensional assemblage was the logical crossover. I do not have an idea of the final outcome, preferring to instinctively and intuitively arrange items until I have something engaging. This is a challenge but one I relish. My practice is very relevant in this time: I believe it is repurposing and recycling at its best.
I am passionate about nature and our planet, and this is a common theme for me. I highlight the damage we are doing and ask us to think more. I work across a variety of mediums, mainly print and sculpture but also collage, photography and digital work, as this fuels my playful side. I take inspiration from nature, but I also explore shape and form.
