Julia Lesiak

BA (Hons) Fashion

BA Fashion Design outfit by Julia Lesiak from collection 'Abstracture' with 3D printed architecture inspired details. Image shows model in yellow dress with black architecture-inspired detailing around the neckline.

I am a recent graduate of BA Fashion design who specialises in womenswear. I’m a person who likes to get hands-on and enjoys designing as well as sewing. I enjoy challenging myself by using different textiles techniques and experimenting with new ones such as 3D printing and laser cutting. My degree at NUA gave me an opportunity to develop and expand my creative practice. I developed my skills through incorporating machinery into my studio practice and applying it to my designs.

Experimenting with different techniques has inspired me and allowed me to create more abstract designs.
My major final project is inspired by lines, structures, and variety of shapes in architecture.
Through the project I explored the concept of innovative design within a fashion context. I have developed the idea of embossing 3D printed filament into fabric to create abstract patterns.
