BA (Hons) Fashion
Kate Loveday
Specialising in Womenswear, I am passionate about the garment construction process and have a particular interest in creative pattern cutting. When creating my final collection, I focused on using 3D and flat innovative pattern cutting techniques, to enhance the movement of my garments by constructing spiral lines to mimic the unique formation of waves and shells. I used a combination of sustainably sourced fabrics including repurposing former fishing oilskins, to develop my fabric knowledge.
Over the course of my studies I have developed strong interpersonal communication skills, I am a good listener and am receptive to feedback. Completing my degree during the Covid-19 pandemic, has meant that I have learnt how to adapt to change and display resilience in continuing to create my work in new ways. Working on my digital portfolio has furthered my knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software and has equipped me with skills for my future career.
