Katie Foreman

BA (Hons) Design for Publishing

BA book design work by Katie Foreman, showing an illustrated dust jacket of jungle leaves, revealing a hard cover book of a colourful owl's head.

I am a book designer with a love for illustration and cover design. I have just completed my Design for Publishing degree at Norwich University of the Arts. My degree has led me to gain a range of skills within publishing, including image making, typography, photography, and art direction. These skills have been perfect to apply to my passion for book design. Self-initiated and freelance roles have helped me to develop my skills further outside of my university degree, these projects include designing for a range of audiences within both fiction and non-fiction genres.

Book cover design by Katie Foreman, showing an illustrated cover incorporating flowers, the silhouette of two women's heads and a house. The second including gothic type photography within water and flowers.

I have gained valuable experience working with clients, balancing projects, working under pressure and meeting deadlines. I am hardworking and driven, with strong organisational skills. When creating my designs, I love to work traditionally as well as digitally, considering a range of routes that best suit the messages and themes within the book.

Children's picture book by Katie Foreman, showing a scene where Gulliver is being pulled through the forest of Lilliput by small animals. The forest background created with cut paper.
