BA (Hons) Illustration
Throughout my studies at NUA I have been able to grow as an illustrator and have begun specialising in pattern and surface design, as well as using children’s illustration to educate about wildlife-based topics and issues. Using recycled and sustainable materials in my process this is something that is always reflected in my approach to creating work. My creative practice has thrived during my final year. My use of bold colours and shapes combined with playful mark-making allows me to visually communicate effectively, showing attention to detail and imagination through a growing range of different mediums and disciplines while keeping my style consistent. Studying at NUA has also improved my skills in communication, organisation, problem-solving, resilience and adaptability, all in preperation for life after university. Pattern designing allows me to consider many different avenues for my work, including product and packaging design, and has become a predominant part of my practice.
