Lara Mortimer
BA (Hons) Graphic Communication
I’m Lara, a chance-grabbing, multidisciplinary designer with a zest for all things beautiful. Having taken on additional responsibilities throughout my time at university — including running the largest student magazine in the country (Storehouse) and leading a team of over 25 people, freelance work and a part-time job — I feel ready to jump into the industry and gain as much experience as possible.
In addition, I’ve enjoyed working on collaborative projects that have developed my communication and teamwork skills continuously.
The project ‘visible’ shows a visual identity for the Clink Prison Museum in London, crowned the most notorious medieval prison in Britain. By using type to emphasise the universal claustrophobia that prisons emit through uncomfortably tight kerning and leading on all brand assets. Alongside this, minimal colour choices and sharp copy reinforce a horror-centric brand language and identity.
