Lauren Harris
BA (Hons) Illustration
During my degree, my focus has been exploring content for young readers and providing them with exciting, educational tools. I’m passionate about writing and illustrating stories about diversity, self-belief, and positive wellbeing. An example of this includes an independent self-publication with the UK eating disorder charity, Beat. Through this project, I have investigated budgeting, material sourcing, supply sales and demonstrated my organisational skills and drive to work and communicate with others.
An equally successful project has been a collaboration with the John Innes Centre. I translated their research into a picture-book for children, which started as a project with NUA and has evolved into a printed book. Through regular communication with plant researchers, I have been able to engage with tasks set by the team, deal with regular corrections, monitor the progress of the project and create an outcome that is accurate and aligns with the brief.
