Laurence Filer-Johns

BA (Hons) Games Art and Design

A knight-like character runs towards a stone guardian blocking a doorway embedded within a cliff.

I am a Games Art and Design graduate with a specialism in Environment Concept Art. I love designing architecture, environments, characters, and props, and incorporating storytelling into my work. I am confident working with Photoshop, and use Blender frequently in my workflow. I enjoy creating art with strong colours, atmosphere, and graphic shapes, and draw inspiration from the art of a number of games, such as Journey, Outer Wilds, No Man’s Sky, and Firewatch. I am an enthusiastic team worker and love the challenge of coming up with creative solutions to problems.

Digital painting of a character with a wide, cylindrical helmet, a single shoulderpad, and a red cloak.
A scene showing a character walking down a canal of turquoise-tinted water. In the distance, numerous buildings that make up the city fade into the hazy sky.
Designs and sketches of warm-tinted cubic structures, with tall windows and cascading water flowing from small channels that surround them.
Illustration showing a large stone structure protruding from a snow-covered mountain. A long bridge extends from the structure, leading out of the frame.
