Liv Nightingale (b. 2002) aka loose tooth encompasses a naive and playful aesthetic in her practice, she often proposes abstracted situations that encourage rethinking how we understand the world as we know it. She finds inspiration in the experience of returning to a time of innocence as an adult.

Liv has found a refined passion for both print and sculpture. In particular, exploring tin foil as a newfound method of making sculpture has sought to validate ‘low-level’ mediums as art forms in their own right. Her work deploys a sense of humour that frequently uses wordplay and scale, for she believes it is essential not to take yourself too seriously within art and in life.

The so-called ‘inner monologue’ presented in her work physically manifests the weird and wonderful hybrid of imagery that fill our heads, whether poetic or entirely ridiculous. She tests how these images can interact and form new combinations with one another, creating a unique visual experience.
