Lucie Cray-Stanton

BA (Hons) Fine Art

BA Fine Art work by Lucie Cray - Stanton showing three MDF boards of a body cut out, a table cut out and the back of a head cut out staggered off the wall.

Hello! I am Lucie Cray-Stanton, a fine artist who specialises in painting. My work throughout university has been an exploration into the issues of representation that the queer community (with a personal focus on lesbians) have and continue to experience.

This degree has pushed me to the edge of my comfort zones, working with peers on collaborative projects, creating digital shows during covid and learning how to market myself as an artist in this digital world.

Yet the best part is still yet to come, as a painter, I have only just begun to explore the world of queer artwork and I’m so excited to discover more.

Being able to explore current and past attitudes to sexuality and how these socio-political stances have advanced or not is imperative to my practice and I’m so excited to explore how I can apply this to life post-university.
